Radio France and France Bleu Azur have launched an auction of objects and equipment belonging to great French athletes. The money raised will be used to help the inhabitants of the azure valleys affected by Storm Alex.

The auction is ongoing until December 14 at Drouot, the famous auction house in Paris. The money raised will then be donated to the Secours Populaire des Alpes-Maritimes. The charitable association will use it to help the affected people living in the Vรฉsubie, Tinรฉe, and Roya valleys, and even those in the north of Italy, near the Alpes-Maritimes.

This new humanitarian action comes in addition to the raffle organized by Julien Dorรฉ or the planned sale of jerseys by OGC Nice. This time, 16 French sports personalities have answered the call. “It’s a modest contribution, at our level,” admits the Cannes native, Yohann Zarco, a MotoGP rider. “But I hope, by selling my helmet, to contribute my part to the effort.”

“Of course, I was shocked by the images of these devastated valleys and the inhabitants, some of whom have lost everything,” explains Sรฉbastien Ogier, a six-time rally driver who is donating his gloves. We cannot remain indifferent. It’s good if it generates some money.”
