Tripartite Partnership Agreement for Young Patients of the Antoine Lacassagne Center

The Nautical Club of Nice (CNN), the Rotary Club of Beaulieu, and the Antoine Lacassagne Center signed a partnership agreement at the Nautical Club of Nice to support the initiative “Childrenโ€™s Health, Health through Sports” with the aim of offering outdoor activities to children affected by cancer.

Each year, the Antoine Lacassagne Center (CAL), one of the leading cancer treatment facilities in France, welcomes nearly 5,500 patients. Many children suffering from cancer are among them. Some are undergoing treatment at the Mediterranean Proton Therapy Institute of CAL.

Unlike conventional radiotherapy, which uses X-rays, proton therapy is conducted with protons that possess more efficient physical properties and are better tolerated by patients, according to specialists at the institute.

“Upon reaching the tumor target, they release all their energy, leading to its destruction, and they stop there, thus protecting the surrounding healthy tissues.” It represents hope in the fight against cancer by reducing radiation exposure.

To this end, a partnership agreement will be signed between the Nautical Club of Nice (CNN), the Rotary Club of Beaulieu, and the Antoine Lacassagne Center. โ€œThe rotations are local actors, organized into clubs, particularly attentive to their communityโ€™s life in a spirit of solidarity, committed to noble causes,โ€ declares … They represent approximately 1.2 million people who are members of over 35,000 Rotary Clubs across about 200 countries.

The purpose of this agreement is to offer children staying at La Consolata (a reception home located at 291 Avenue de Fabron), if their condition permits, sea outings organized by the Nautical Club. The financing of the licenses for these outings will be provided by the Rotary Club of Beaulieu.
