Tripperty by La Poste has been in service since this week at Nice airport. It is an innovative solution that offers travelers the ability to request the safekeeping or reshipment of their item(s) prohibited in the cabin for safety reasons during a flight.
Until now, when passing through security control, if a prohibited item in the cabin (bottle over 100ml, sharp object, etc.) was found, the security agent would offer the traveler the option to leave it for destruction, retrieval by someone they know, or check it in as hold luggage.
Now, passengers are also offered the option to deposit the item in a locker.
Specifically, Trippertyboxes, parcel boxes specially designed for this service, are made available to agents in each of the security areas.
The passenger can then deposit their confiscated item there and receive a label.
They will then have 21 days to connect to the Tripperty website, (box.tripperty.com), identify themselves with the label number, and directly pay for the service online securely by indicating their choice to retrieve their item:
– Physical retrieval at the welcome desk of the Service Center in Terminal 2 within 14 days.
– Shipment to their home or an address of their choice within 48 hours following the connection.
Convenient as it is, the service is unfortunately not free.
The simple locker fee is 10 euros. For shipment to a home, itโs an additional 5 euros within France, 10 euros more to Europe, and 20 euros more to the rest of the world.
