Last July, the metropolitan council announced the joining of two Maralpine municipalities to the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. This Monday, January 3rd, they officially became part of the intercommunality.
Today, Drap and Châteauneuf-Villevieille become the 50th and 51st municipalities to be part of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis!
Located north of Nice, the two villages will thus have access to many benefits, notably the “Ligne Azur” public transport system.
Two new bus lines have even been created to facilitate travel to/from Nice and better meet the needs of newcomers to the metropolis.
Henceforth, residents of Drap can take Line 81 (from 5 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. all week) from the La Condamine neighborhood to reach Ariane (Northeast of Nice). They will also have the option to take Line 89, which allows access to La Trinité.
For Châteauneuf-Villevieille, it wasn’t a matter of creating new lines but extending an already existing one: the C7.
This line already serves several municipalities in the metropolis, such as Aspremont or Levens. Seven new bus stops have been created and are open for reservation around Châteauneuf-Villevieille.
It’s a great day for the two new municipalities of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. The beginning of an adventure related to the themes of “development, enhancement, and preservation of our territory,” as said by the president of MNCA, Christian Estrosi, in his welcome speech delivered this morning.
On this occasion, the elected officials of the metropolis, such as Anthony Borré, sought to highlight “the commitment of metropolitan teams, ready to serve the residents of Drap and Madonencs, who will, in a few years, see the tram arrive right in the heart of Drap!”
The future of the Ligne Azur transport system is thus completely aligned with those of the two new towns of the metropolis!
