Thomas Intartaglia and Thibault Reuter Receive the City’s Bronze Medal, Presented by Christian Estrosi, for Subduing an Armed Attacker Last June
This Thursday, May 15, in Nice, Christian Estrosi awarded the city’s bronze medal to two citizens with exemplary courage: Thomas Intartaglia and Thibault Reuter. Last June, while making a delivery, the two men witnessed a 75-year-old woman being assaulted by an individual armed with a katana. They immediately stopped their vehicle, intervened without hesitation, and subdued the assailant.
โWhat they did, few people would have done. They acted with remarkable composure and courage,โ declared Christian Estrosi. The mayor described them as โheroes of society.โ
Anthony Borrรฉ: โThat little something extra that makes this act heroicโ
Anthony Borrรฉ, first deputy, praised their bravery: โThey had that little extra something that makes this act admirable and heroic.โ The ceremony was held privately, with their families, close ones, and the municipal police chief in attendance. Already honored during the May 8 commemorations, Thomas Intartaglia and Thibault Reuter were once again honored by the city of Nice.
