After the murder of a 21-year-old young man the previous day, the city councilor from the National Front believes that Nice “is descending further into violence every day.” According to her, the actions of the Mayor of Nice and his housing deputy are to blame.
This was an opportunity for Marie-Christine Arnautu to launch her criticisms at the one who holds political responsibility and the one in charge of the matters.
Christian Estrosi’s response was quick: “I remind you that the Ariane and Moulins neighborhoods were classified as Priority Security Zones in the fall of 2012. As such, they fall exclusively under the National Police.”
Marie-Christine Arnautu:
“Last night (editor’s note: Saturday), a man was shot in the heart of the Ariane district. This crime occurred less than a week after another murder, committed in the Moulins district, on last Sunday. While nothing currently allows us to establish a link between the two events, it seems that in both cases we are dealing with score-settling.
Nice is sinking further into violence every day, and the safety of all the people of Nice is threatened. Let’s remember that in the Moulins, a mother was hit by bullets while she was returning home…
Christian Estrosi had promised to make Nice “a showcase of security,” while Dominique Estrosi-Sassone never stops praising her impressive “city policy” and keeps pouring taxpayer money in the hope of buying social peace.
Confronted with the consequences of their weakness and compromises, the people of Nice are now expecting explanations.”
