In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, around 1 a.m., two transgender individuals were assaulted with a knife in Nice, at the corner of Gambetta Street.

Among the two victims, one was injured with a knife, but “her life is not in danger,” according to the prosecutor of Nice, Xavier Bonhomme.

The two suspects, two men aged 19 and 24, were arrested by a BAC patrol after fleeing and are now in custody. One of the two men is already known to the police for “minor offenses,” while the second is unknown.

During the chase with the BAC, one of the assailants allegedly shouted “Allah Akbar” several times and even demanded that the police shoot him, declaring he wanted to “die as a martyr.”

The investigation has been entrusted to the judicial police, and the national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office has been informed and is following the developments of the initial investigations.
