Two-wheelers undergo their technical inspection on the Promenade des Anglais.

Latest News

From October 27 to 31, 2008, municipal police officers, specialists in two-wheelers, will check the safety elements of two-wheelers for free on the Promenade des Anglais.

This preventive operation will help raise awareness among young people about their safety, the noise of their two-wheelers, and thus promote new interactions with the municipal police.

It must be noted that on a national scale, they account for 23% of road fatalities while representing less than one percent of road traffic. A sectoral study by the Interministerial Road Safety Observatory, which identifies the main risk factors that motorcyclists are exposed to, has shown that a motorized two-wheeler driver is 20 times more likely to be killed than a car driver.

For the first time, these preventive actions will also be carried out towards two test middle schools (Rolland Garros and Blanche de Castille), where municipal police officers will engage with the students.
