This Saturday, September 2, Manon Fiorot faced Rose Namajunas in the co-main event of UFC Paris. Following a fierce battle, the result was unequivocal.
What a spectacle! Without a shadow of a doubt, Manon Fiorot was facing the greatest challenge of her young MMA career. Against Rose Namajunas, former UFC strawweight champion and a prominent figure of the organization, the fighter from Nice didn’t falter. It’s fair to say that the physical difference between the two fighters quickly became apparent. Taller, heavier, and confident in her abilities, Fiorot was not there to give any gifts.
However, after a first round dominated by the French fighter, the course of events became more contested. Very mobile and difficult to pin down, “Thug Rose” took the opportunity to launch a devastating counter-attack in the middle of the second round. Stunned but quickly back on her feet, Fiorot showed remarkable resilience to finish the round in a strong position before managing the third and final round on the same basis. The bloodied face of the Niçoise following a head clash did not change the outcome of the fight: Manon Fiorot wins by unanimous decision!
