The ultimate nature event that everyone was waiting for: the Ultra-Trail Côte d’Azur Mercantour, starting from Nice at the Baie des Anges and finishing in Saint-Martin-Vésubie.
It reflects the character of our region situated between the sea and the mountains, and continues the tradition of previous experiences, including the organization of the Challenge Trail Nature 06, as well as events like the first French Vertical Kilometer Championships on June 29, 2013, in partnership with the French Athletics Federation, and the first regional Trail Championships, “the Trails of the Vésubie.”
Participants began their journey yesterday afternoon by the sea in Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur, and then followed the valleys of the Mercantour National Park, heading towards Saint-Martin-Vésubie.
A unique setting for participants: a contrast of landscapes, a variety of villages crossed, and some high points, including the most spectacular: Mount Pépoiri at 2,674 meters above sea level, from which you can see the Côte d’Azur in a 360° view and even Corsica in favorable weather!
The first participants are expected in Saint-Martin Vésubie from Saturday starting at 4 PM.
