The number of job seekers (category A) decreased by 10.7% over a quarter and by 12.8% over a year in the Alpes-Maritimes department, according to figures from the Ministry of Labor published this Wednesday. And for the Nice metropolitan area, the figures are even more encouraging.
The number of job seekers registered with Pôle Emploi in the Alpes-Maritimes is decreasing. For those who are not working at all and are required to seek employment (category A), the number fell by 10.7% over a quarter (down 8,130 people) and by 12.8% over a year, leaving 67,710 people currently registered in category A.
The decrease is even more pronounced in the municipalities of the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolitan area, where the number of job seekers required to search for work and without any activity (category A) currently stands at 34,550. This is a decrease of 9.8% over a quarter and 13.2% over a year.
The trend for young people under 25 is more significant, with a 19.5% reduction in those registered with Pôle Emploi over a year, especially among men in the Nice metropolitan area.
