The unemployment figures are declining despite the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic. After an increase in the second quarter, the number of job seekers registered with Pรดle emploi in category A (not engaged in any activity) decreased by 11% in France (including overseas departments and regions, excluding Mayotte).
There are now 3,673,400 in metropolitan France in the third quarter of 2020. Over one year, the number of category A job seekers recorded an 8.8% increase.
For categories A, B, C, unemployment in the third quarter decreased by 0.5%, and increased by 4.4% over one year. It now affects 6,086,100 people, according to Dares, the statistical department of the Ministry of Labor.
The number of unemployed registered in category A with Pรดle Emploi in the Alpes-Maritimes experienced a significant decrease of 12.8% during the third quarter of 2020, but showed an increase of 16.1% over one year.
