Red remains the dominant color concerning the unemployment situation. An additional 9,400 people registered with Pôle Emploi during the month of June, which is 0.3% more compared to the previous month and 4% more over twelve months, resulting in a total of 3,398,000 job seekers.
Optimists might still claim that the (negative) increase was contained, while critics of the Government have an argument to denounce the inefficacy of its policy.
In fact, the increase in unemployment has been present since 2008 with a base of 2 million unemployed at that time.
The transition point between Nicolas Sarkozy and François Hollande was at 2,922,000.
The Alpes-Maritimes as well as the PACA Region do not present a more promising situation, quite the contrary: an increase of 1.5% (between June and May) for the department and 1.3% for the Region.
The economy is still stalled…
