The poor numbers from the last month of the year confirm the continuous rise in the number of unemployed people in France.


The number of job seekers registered with Pรดle Emploi in category A (having not engaged in any activity) stood at 3,496,400 in mainland France at the end of December 2014, announced the Ministry of Labor on Tuesday, January 27.

Over the year 2014, unemployment increased by 189,100 units.

The dismal numbers from December confirm the steady increase in the number of category A job seekers with an additional 8,100 registered in the last month of the year, representing an increase of 0.2%, slightly less than in previous months. In the Alpes-Maritimes, this percentage is 0.7%.

Since May 2012, France has seen an additional 574,300 category A job seekers.

In the Alpes-Maritimes, there are 91,994 individuals registered with Pรดle Emploi.
