After three months of decline, followed by a 0.8% increase in December, unemployment remained almost stable in January.
The number of job seekers in category A (without any activity) in France stood at 3.47 million people at the end of the month, which is only 800 more than the previous month, announced the Ministry of Labor, this Friday, February 24.
“The trend remains favorable,” emphasized the Ministry of Labor. Over the year, the number of job seekers in category A has decreased by 2.5%.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, the number of job seekers without activity (category A) was 70,070. This number decreased by 0.4% compared to December 2016 and by 0.5% over the year.
In the Paca region, this number decreased by 0.2% over one month and by 0.4% over one year.
