The Franco-German friendship is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary! This is an opportunity for the German department of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis to invite two artists from the German slam scene to Nice: Bjรถrn Hรถgsdal (Kiel) and Moritz Neumeier (Hamburg), who will conduct slam poetry workshops with the university students on Friday, December 7, and Saturday, December 8.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Franco-German friendship sealed by the signing of the รlysรฉe Treaty (January 22, 1963), the German department of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is organizing an event around slam poetry. For this occasion, two famous artists from the German slam scene, Bjรถrn Hรถgsdal and Moritz Neumeier, will be welcomed at the Faculty of Letters.
“Slam” writing workshops will be offered to students on December 7 and 8: Having experience working with Franco-German groups, the German artists will introduce participants to slam poetry in both French and German according to their respective levels.
A “slam” evening will be organized on December 8: it will bring together German and Niรงois slammers for a friendly tournament at the Nice-Est Saint Roch space. Students will also be able to present the result of their participation in the writing workshops. They will have the opportunity to go on stage and recite their poems in German, French, or both languages. Several Niรงois slammers from the Cave Romagnan will also attend the evening, and slam-enthusiast spectators are invited to take the initiative to present their own poems in the language of their choice.
