This Monday, the EHPAD La Rosée of Nice, in collaboration with the association Agir pour le Lien social et la Citoyenne (ALC), organized an intergenerational cultural gathering. The event took place in the gardens of the establishment, attended by its director and manager, as well as the director and administrators of the ALC.
Bringing together children, teenagers, and elderly people around contemporary art and music was the project that the EHPAD and the ALC were able to realize last night, with the voluntary participation of musicians, including three members of the Nice opera. These musicians placed themselves around artworks already present in the garden, to create a cultural link with them.
The EHPAD, which cares for elderly people, and the ALC, which supports young people and adults in difficulty, gathered their “protégés” to make them discover together a different universe. Jean-Claude Gunst, former president of the ALC, wishes to show young people what they can do for the elderly, fostering closeness and exchange. Above all, to make them aware of things they do not know well, such as classical or jazz music. For the association, it is a way of showing that people in difficulty can also give, in addition to receiving. Thus, the children’s mothers participated by cooking for everyone.
For Francis Simeoni, manager of the EHPAD, it’s about opening up the establishment to the rest of the world and leaving a mark. “Perfuming the existence of the residents” by creating a link between nature, music, and art.
