All healthcare workers in France should be able to receive a booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. This is, in any case, the recommendation published by the Haute Autorité de santé (High Authority of Health) on Wednesday, October 6. This recommendation also concerns the relatives of immunocompromised individuals and members of sanitary transport personnel. Until now, this booster was reserved for people aged 65 and over and those at risk.
The Haute Autorité de santé (HAS) recommends extending this booster to “healthcare workers, sanitary transport, and professionals in the medico-social sector,” it detailed in a statement, two days after its European counterpart paved the way for a generalization of the third dose. “It also recommends offering it to the relatives of immunocompromised individuals.”
