Until April 27th, the Valberg tourist office is hosting an exhibition by the รcomusรฉe de la Roudoule on the theme “living in the mountains in winter”.
The opening of this exhibition brought together the deputy mayor of Pรฉone-Valberg, Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, the director of the รcomusรฉe, Patrice Demรฉocq, and its curator, Jean-Loup Fontana.
Patrice Demรฉocq introduced the รcomusรฉe and its missions intended for a wide audience, while Jean-Loup Fontana, as the curator of the รcomusรฉe, discussed this particular exhibition.
An exhibition that depicts, through explanatory panels and ancient objects, life as it used to unfold in our mountains: “It explains the lives of the men and women who lived here year-round, while integrating a historical, anthropological, and natural perspective of the permanent habitat that was that of our ancestors.”
An extremely fragile habitat, which has survived notably thanks to the geographical border position of the Southern Alps.
Finally, Deputy Charles Ange Ginรฉsy recalled the history of the territory, “which perfectly aligns with Valbergโs philosophy of committing to sustainable development for over thirty years,” emphasizing “all that remains to be discovered about the lives of our ancestors.”
A mountain that survived rural exodus “thanks to the central administration which kept public services in place.”
Charles Ange Ginรฉsy praised the overall efforts of the รcomusรฉe de la Roudoule “which, despite its limited resources, manages to carry out very commendable actions.”
The mayor took the opportunity to remind that Valberg will be celebrating its 80th anniversary in the course of 2015.
