Vandalism of the PS 06 premises during the strike: A disheartening attitude

Latest News

Last Tuesday, during his speech at the Les Rรฉpublicains rally at Jardin Albert 1er, former President of the Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy, referred to the protesters against the Labor Law from the Nuit Debout movement (who are now one with the striking unions) as people who “have nothing in their brains.”

As usual, Nicolas Sarkozy showed little regard for others, especially those who do not think like him, and, as always, a high regard for himself, which allows him to judge others… and from a high pedestal!

But, but… If these people who certainly and naturally have brains were to make good use of them, such as by connecting their synapses with their neurons in a way that allows them to think for a moment before acting, wouldn’t it be better?

Statement by Xavier Garcia

Yesterday (editor’s note: the day before yesterday), the route of the Nice protest against the labor law passed through Rue Biscarra, where our federation’s headquarters is located.

I was not shocked by this passage in front of our premises. When governing, one must accept the right to protest. I accept much less the vandalism that was committed on the front of our premises, practices which until now were the prerogative of the Identitaires.

This attitude of a handful of protesters is all the more disheartening because in this department, the socialists have a spirit of dialogue and have always endeavored to work with everyone on the left.

Ultimately, it was our employee, whom the protest was supposed to defend, who spent her afternoon repairing and cleaning the damages caused.

Xavier GARCIA โ€“ First Federal Secretary of the PS 06
