Var Valley: Territory for Education in Sustainable Development
Education on environmental protection is a flagship action of the Sustainable Development policy. Raising awareness among the general public, particularly children, is an integral part of this initiative.
It is thus quite naturally that the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis and the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes collaborate on the development of an educational kit alongside the C.R.D.P. (Regional Center for Educational Documentation), with the collaboration of the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds), the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, and the Academy of Nice.
Three hundred kits will be distributed to directors, teachers, schoolchildren, and middle school students in the educational institutions located within the National Interest Operation (OIN) territory of the Plaine du Var – Eco-Valley.
This kit consists of 11 posters raising student awareness about sustainable development issues in the Var Valley and proposals for educational activities, written by teachers and incorporated into the new official programs.
These playful and original learning materials will enable teachers to put into perspective the challenges of developing the Var Valley and the Eco-Valley for young audiences: future Eco-citizens, actors, and users. During this event, the website www.valleeduvar.fr will also be presented, a real educational resource for teachers.
