The loan of this exhibition, by the Maison de lโEnvironnement of the City of Nice, is part of the new Agenda 21 of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, which aims to unify the coastal and hinterland municipalities around sustainable development and to initiate a new dynamic of knowledge exchange and partnership. It serves as a link between sea and mountains and reduces the distances between all the municipalities of this vast territory.

It appears as a blue sphere due to the water that covers three-quarters of its surface. Water is the condition for life. It is indispensable for the functioning of cells and the metabolism of every living being.
If the appearance and history of life are linked to the existence of water, the history of humansโwhether they be nomads, villagers, or city dwellersโis tied to the presence of this resource. Due to the needs, among others, of agriculture, industry, and large cities, water resources are intensely exploited, often in a manner that exceeds the natural capacities for renewal. These forms of use lead to significant problems of pollution and disruption of the water cycle.
