Latest News

From May 6 to May 29, the Chapelle des Pénitents Blancs in Vence is offering an exhibition of photographs by Geneviève Roy.
Influenced by etchings and Japanese prints, the photographer’s works exalt nature. In her silver gelatin prints, light is used to carve through shadow.

An artist photographer born in Paris and trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Geneviève Roy undertook her first photojournalism assignments abroad. They were published in magazines such as Géo, Kodak Professionnel, Expression, Émois.

She has worked as a production assistant, manager, and multimedia production director. Trips to Saudi Arabia led to a series titled “Portraits of Women.”
After this colorful period, she turned to black and white photography and began working on the theme of contemporary dance. She accompanied young dancers and choreographers who are now renowned figures in dance. These works have been published in specialized press and exhibited.

Fairy tales are another series. Nature plays a prominent role in her work: landscapes, forests, rocks, water, untamed places. The printing process becomes part of her reflection and a predominant expression of her Creation.

She lives and works in Vence.
