The spirit of initiative, reputation, and a new vision for the sporting event led Patrick Mouratoglou to create the Verrazzano Open.
An ATP tournament that will take place from April 3 to 9 in Sophia Antipolis, offering 90 points and a total prize of 64,000 euros.
The goal is to sustain tennis on the French Riviera and give it a new breath of life.
On the Sporting Side
In the symbolic and famous setting of Sophia Antipolis, the tennis stars of tomorrow will gather in early April. Following in the footsteps of Yannick Noah, who trained on these same clay courts, players ranked from 50th to 150th in the ATP will compete for the 9,000 euros awarded to the winner.
A great launch pad before Roland Garros for physical condition, but above all for fame.
The tournament in this “Challenger” format aims to play an educational role. Once again, the Mouratoglou spirit comes into play. The aim is not to bring Nadal and Djokovic together, but those who will take their places in the future.
On the Spectacle Side
Patrick Mouratoglou’s project goes beyond the classic sporting event. The Verrazzano Open aims to change the atmosphere. No more ATP in Nice; it’s time for a complex where luxury, sport, and entertainment will share the spotlight.
To luxury, the Beachcomber French Riviera hotel, 4 stars. To sport, the premises of the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy. To entertainment, activities, clinics, and surprises throughout the week.
Meticulous preparation and a great attention to detail. Patrick Mouratoglou applies to this Open the fundamentals that have enabled him to coach Serena Williams and her two dozen Grand Slam tournaments successfully in recent years.
All we have to do now is wait for April 3.
