For those who wish to attend these festivities, which promise to be of high quality, we present the schedule of planned events:
Thursday 9th, at 6:30 PM (Citadel Marquee): Inaugural conference ‘The Architectural Heritage of the House of Savoy in Villefranche in 1860’ by Mara De Candido, honorary professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Turin
Sunday 12th September, from 1:30 PM (Port de la Santé): Reenactment of the arrival of Napoleon III in Villefranche on September 12, 1860
Saturday 18th September, at 8 PM (Binon Garden): Dinner dance and Saint Michael’s Ball with costumed performers themed around 1860 (paid entry)
Wednesday 22nd September, at 9 PM at the Théâtre de Verdure: Opera ‘Napoleon III’ creation by Albert Tosan and Jean-Marie Raynaud (free entry subject to availability)
This rich program will later be enhanced by the inauguration, on September 9th until December 11th, of the exhibition “A Day in 1860” (Saint-Elme Chapel, Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM).
