Villefranche sur Mer: Hélénon Exhibition

Latest News

The municipality is organizing an Evening Meeting centered around the Hélénon exhibition in the form of a round table on Wednesday, March 21 at 5:30 PM in the Citadel auditorium, with the participation of André ATTIA (author of the presentation text in the catalog or brochure), Doctor in Medical Biology, Raphaël MONTICELLI, Writer and Art Critic, Tahar SAIAH, Vice President of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, and Yves SALOMONE, Commercial Executive.

These participants, supporters, and friends of Serge Hélénon, will present their free thoughts on the work: the Situations, perception, and relationship with “contemporary art.”

“Serge Hélénon’s work crystallizes three worlds: the Antilles, Africa, and Europe. His artistic practice involves a dual action: the appropriation of fragments of the world and the assembly of these collected elements. In his works, gathered under the generic term Expression-bidonville, the artist creates encounters, shocks, and links. He glorifies what once was, transforms waste into treasure, the insignificant into rarity. He thus creates what he calls ‘painting places,’” Dominique BERTHET – HELENON.
