For the third consecutive year, Villeneuve-Loubet honors Tibet through a series of events aimed at better appreciating this people and culture.
Starting from February 24th and throughout the month of March, eight artists and great travelers will exhibit at the Museum of History and Art on the theme “Tibet in Complete Freedom.”
On March 10th, the sky will light up with a release of illuminated lanterns, in the purest Asian tradition. “Mini Tashi,” a remote-controlled mini hot air balloon in the colors of the Tibetan flag, will also be part of the celebration. It is piloted by an association motivated by the defense of the Tibetan people’s condition.
Another curiosity: the initiation of a sand mandala by six Tibetan monks. According to tradition, after 48 hours, the work will be dissolved during a ceremony with dispersal into the Loup.
For film enthusiasts, Natalie Fuchs, director and producer, will present “Kalachakra, the Wheel of Time.” An exchange with the audience is scheduled following the screening.
Sunday, March 12th will be the highlight of this event, sponsored by actress Véronique Jannot, with a very full program and activities throughout the village: official events, exhibitions, film screenings, tasting stands, signings, workshops, dances, mandalas…
Proof of the endless resources of this charming country for which Villeneuve-Loubet sponsors the fortress of Lhuntse Dzong.
