Voice of Light: 3000 Candles and 3 Voices, the Monaco Cathedral Sublimed!

Latest News

The now hundred-year-old Monaco Cathedral will host a unique sound and light show on Friday, December 2nd at 8:00 PM, featuring the Var’s Musica Ensemble, and 3,000 candles that will illuminate the entire interior of the magnificent Monegasque rock monument all by themselves.

cathedrale_monaco.jpg This charity evening will be in favor of the ARES Foundation (Actions for Child AIDS Research), and the show is the work of the Swiss Renato Häusler, the watchman of Lausanne Cathedral (one of the last in Europe). He is known for his frequent illuminations in churches and cathedrals.

His passion for this exceptional concept dates back to 2005. He states: “The vision of a monument illuminated in this form, and the atmosphere that emerges, are fascinating. In perfect symbiosis with the music, the harmony of this alchemy provides a moment of great emotion and dream in this chaotic world.”

3,000 candles will progressively illuminate the cathedral during the concert; the Var’s Musica Ensemble (Gabriel Jublin, countertenor; François Maniez, baritone; and Daniel Jublin, bass) takes the stage and the magic happens immediately!
