The Nice team was defeated 0-3 on the 9th day of LAM, against the 2017 champion and 2018 finalist, Chaumont.
Unbeaten in two matches at Palmeira, the Nice team from NVB eventually succumbed last night to a very strong Chaumont team. The first set was logically won by the former French champion (15-25).
Valorously in the second period, the Nice team managed to hold their ground throughout this second set, even reaching match point at 24-23, before Chaumont, relentless with their serves, retook the lead (27-29).
To aim for the Top 8 of the playoffs, much more is needed for NVB. The third set was uninspiring. Chaumont logically won it (14-25) against Mladen Kasic’s men, who deserved better across the entire match. Final score 0-3 for Chaumont, who takes the 6th place in the standings with 13 points, while Nice remains in 9th place with 9 points.
