At the close of the first week of the championship, Montpellier welcomes Nice on the occasion of the 3rd day of Ligue AM.
Defeated for the first time this season on Tuesday night in Cannes (2/3), the Montpellier team will have the opportunity to earn points as early as Saturday night against the Aiglons – who were exempt during the 2nd day – a Nice team that had crashed in Rennes (0/3) for their first match.
But on their home ground, Montpellier has confidence and will once again be able to rely on the support of their fans who wish to make the Palais des Sports CHABAN DELMAS an impregnable fortress, replicating their performance in the Ligue AM opener against Narbonne (3-1).
On their side, the Nice team had hoped for a better result from their trip to Brittany during the first day, where they stumbled against Rennes. They thus arrive in Montpellier with the sole objective of bringing three points back to Nice to kickstart their season.
During the off-season, the Nice team underwent extensive changes; Mladen KASIC sought to bring in players who had previously worn the club’s colors, Jelle RIBBENNS and Rodney AH-KONG.
The club from the Côte d’Azur will also be able to count on key players who played in Ligue AM last season, the former Nantes opposite hitter Robin OVERBEEKE and the former setter from Ajaccio Zeljko CORIC.
