It was off to a bad start, and yet, NVB delivered a fantastic performance to overcome Rennes and reach the semifinals of the Ligue A.

At home, the Rennes club eventually gave way on Wednesday night during the deciding quarter-final match against the team from the Côte d’Azur (21-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-16, 12-15), led by the Dutchman Robin Overbeeke (26 points), who had another outstanding evening.
For NVB, this is the second Championship semifinal in its history, after the one lost in 2017 against Toulouse (3-0, 3-2). The team from Nice will face Tours, the top team from the regular season and the big favorite. The first leg will take place on Sunday at the Palmeira hall, with the return match scheduled for Tuesday.
