This evening, President Griguier’s players return to the Palmeira court for a French Cup match against Montpellier (Division 1).
It’s an opportunity for them to showcase their true character after the hard-fought victory (3-2) last Friday against Alès in the championship.
For the Nice players delivered during the first two sets (25-22; 25-13), but everything shifted during the next two, allowing Alès to come back (21-25; 23-25). Fortunately, with the score tied at two sets each, Mitrovic and his men regained the necessary focus in the final set to clinch a narrow victory (15-10).
The mystery remains concerning these lapses after a positive start to the match, which was also the case against Calais.
This evening’s examination against Montpellier (Division 1) in the French Cup will be valuable to perhaps provide the beginning of an answer and, why not, be the match that finally launches the season for the Nice volleyball players.
