Toulouse did not expect an easy match at the Palmeira on Tuesday evening, and they were right. The Spacer’s were challenged by Nice, but they nevertheless secured their ticket to the final by winning the tie-break (25-23, 18-25, 17-15, 25-22, 15-10).

The Toulouse club reaches the final of the French Championship for the first time in its history. The beautiful journey of the newcomer Nice ends in the semi-final.

The Giammarchi Hall was packed for this match. The first set showed a balance between the two teams, even though the Nice players lost many points due to nervousness.

In the second set, Nice brought back Egleskans, and the Latvian wreaked havoc with his serves, allowing his team to come back to 1-1.

The Nice team continued their momentum and displayed all their skill. Toulouse struggled and lost the set. Nice went up to 2-1 and held the keys to victory.

Toulouse and Nice engaged in an endless duel in the 4th set, which could have been the decisive one. A fierce battle, played on a razor’s edge, point by point, which the Spacer’s won at the very end.

Nice lost a lot of energy and faltered in the tie-break, which the Toulouse team won without much difficulty. The tension got the better of Mladen Kasic’s players, who ended the match and the championship with a note of disappointment.
