This Saturday evening at 8 PM, for the 21st day of the Marmara SpikeLigue, the team from Nice traveled to Tours but did not bring back the victory to the coast. TVB won (3-1) at home.
The two teams had already met in December. Nice Volley Ball had also lost 3 sets to 2 against TVB. The Nice team is currently 12th in the championship, in a rather complicated season. In contrast, Tours remains quite solid. Fourth in the standings, Marcelo Fronckowiak’s men gave their opponents a hard time.
Two promising first sets
Despite the defeat, the Eagles did not show a bad side today. After conceding the first set (25-17), Éric Montagnon’s men snatched the second set (22-25). The team from Nice managed to capitalize on their opponents’ mistakes, notably the four service faults in six points. However, the effort was not consistent enough to secure a win.
During the third act, TVB drove the nail in further without giving much chance to the Eagles. The Azuréens still gave their maximum effort, in vain. The results of the last two sets bear witness to this, (25-15), then (25-18).
The Nice team will have the opportunity to show a new side in the next match. The Eagles will face Nantes on February 24 at home.
