Nice made quick work of Montpellier, who were in second place in the championship. A victory that brings the Nice team closer to fourth place.
The NVB made a strong statement by dominating Montpellier this Friday evening, in front of a well-filled Palmeira stadium, with a decisive score of 3-0.
While the first set was the tightest (25-21), the next two sets show that the Nice team shut down the visitors (25-19, 25-16), despite a strong resistance from the Hรฉrault team in the first two sets.
On the Nice side, Dutchman Robin Overbeeke stood out by scoring 19 points.
In the rankings, Nice is closing in on Rennes, who are in fourth place, while Montpellier, in second place, is now threatened by Ajaccio, who currently hold the third spot on the podium.
With two games left in the regular season, Nice is already assured of participating in the championship finals. First, they will host Tourcoing on April 5th, followed by a trip to Poitiers on April 13th.
