Volleyball: NVB starts 2025 well

Latest News

For the 16th day of the championship, the first of the year for NVB, the Eagles hosted the Dragons of Cannes this Saturday.

1st set

Unlike the last two matches against the Cannois, the Niรงois started off with a bang. They took the lead right from the start; 7-5 then 10-6. The Eagles maintained their lead until the end of this first set, eventually winning 25-19.

2nd set

However, as they say, “old habits die hard”… And that was the case in this second set. The Cannois responded strongly, taking advantage of the Eagles’ errors. The same mistakes from 2024 resurfaced for the Niรงois. The score was quite decisive: 25-16 for the Dragons. Everything was back in play before the 3rd set.

3rd set

The 3rd set balanced the match. Both teams exchanged point for point. The Eagles narrowly won this 3rd set: 25-23. The Niรงois were one set away from winning the derby.

4th set

It was a repeat of the first set in this fourth set with Nice quickly leading 7-2 then 16-10. With this lead, the Niรงois did not falter and won the set and the match: 25-17. They managed to defeat the Cannois neighbor for the first time since November 2021.
