Seventh in the regular season, Maxรฉville-Nancy gave their Nice counterpart a hard time in these Men’s Ligue B quarter-finals, to the point of pushing the runner-up of Canteleu-Maromme to a decisive playoff match in the quest for the precious ticket to the semi-finals.
In their Palmeira hall, Nice finally secured their ticket to the semi-finals after a tough 3 sets to 2 victory. Noteworthy in this tight match was the brilliant performance of Aleksandar Mitrovic, who was decisive by scoring 17 points for his team.
The other teams already qualified for the semi-finals are Tourcoing, Harnes, and Orange.
Nice will host Orange this Saturday, 27th for the first leg, before traveling to Orange on Wednesday, 30th. A potential playoff match would take place on Saturday, May 3, in case of a tie.
