It took over 2 hours, exactly 2 hours and 9 minutes, for the Azurean derby to have a winner… and it was the white-red Cannois who managed to win the match (3-2).
It was far from easy as Mladen Kasic’s players opposed this outcome, but the disastrous start to the 5th set proved fatal for them: at 1-5, a comeback, while not impossible, is still quite the feat, especially away and in a “hot” atmosphere (around a thousand spectators were in the stands of the Palais des Victoires on this occasion).
In fact, the Niçois did not succeed, only managing to gain 1 point in the standings, which will always be valuable.
