The Mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolitan Area awarded medals to deserving volunteers last night at the CUM.
“Without your actions, without your generosity, Nice and all the municipalities of the Metropolitan Area would not be what they are. They would lack an essential dimension,” declared Christian Estrosi as he addressed the recipients.
He continued: “By giving your time, your energy, by putting your talents at the service of social, cultural, educational, and sporting activities, and in so many other areas, you are a tremendous vector of dynamism.”
An “Academy of Volunteering” will begin operating from April 15. Its objective is to establish a direct link between associations as well as individual volunteers, and local authorities and organizations.
