As every year, it’s up to you to elect the best female athlete, the best male athlete, and the best para-athlete of the past season. In the women’s category, five iconic sports will be represented, including the swimmer from Olympic Nice Natation, Charlotte Bonnet, four-time French champion in the 100m freestyle, 100m medley, 100m breaststroke, and 200m medley. Athletics and triple jump will be highlighted with Rougy Diallo from Nice Côte d’Azur Athlétisme, who is the world champion in her discipline, while savate and French boxing will have the World champion Adeline May from the Nice Boxing Team Frank May as their representative. Nastasia Noens from Inter Club Nice, who came 7th at the Sochi Winter Olympics, 3rd in the Bormio World Cup, and is a French champion, will try to slide to the final victory while Marie-Eve Paget (Nice Cavigal Basket 06) will be the sole representative of team sports as the U20 European Basket champion.
In the men’s category, four world champions and one bronze medalist at the world championship and European vice-champion are on hand. Jérôme Ardissone from Nice Ardissone Full Contact, double World WKA and WKN champion will be up against Zelim Khadjiev from the Wrestling Club Nice, a junior World and French champion. The triathlete Maxime Chane (Olympic Nice Natation), also a junior World champion, will face the judoka Loïc Pietri (Olympic Judo Nice), World Championship bronze medalist, European vice-champion, and World team championship bronze medalist, and Quentin Varnier from Club Nautique de Nice, U23 World champion in quadruple sculls and French champion in coxed quadruple sculls.
In the para-sport and adapted sport categories, the competition will be as fierce and close as ever, with swimmer Alexandre Cariou (ACSA 06) nominated for the first time thanks to his French championship title in the 50m breaststroke and his qualification for the 2015 World Games in Los Angeles. He will face seasoned nominees like Nathalie Cuny (ANICES), French 10 km champion, or Cécile Hernandez-Cervellon, Paralympic silver medalist in snowboard at the last Sochi Games, Clara Perrin (ACSA 06), double French champion in the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke and qualified for the 2015 World Games in Los Angeles, and finally, fencer Robert Sellem from OGC Nice Escrime, crowned with the French épée champion title.
