Voucalia is a festival of polyphonies and Mediterranean music that will take place from Friday, June 30 to Sunday, July 2 on the Castle Hill located in the Mediterranean and the old town of Nice.
Voucalia, derived from the Nice word “voucala” which means “vowel”, is a lexical creation that also rests on the root “vox” meaning voice, and is similarly used in Occitan, Corsican, Italian, and Spanish.
Blending tradition and modernity, Voucalia introduces us to all the flavors of Mediterranean music within one of the enchanting settings of the city of Nice.
From the Oud, inspired by Anouar Brahem, to the Flamenco guitar of Manitas de Platas, from the colorful tribe of Gnawa Diffusion to the vocal duo from Toulouse Que de la Bouche, the sounds and colors will resonate under starry Nice skies not to be missed under any circumstances.
