The last metropolitan council met this Friday, which was an opportunity to vote on the support plan for Ukrainians in the context of the current Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
This last session of the metropolitan council opened with a tribute to the Ukrainian people, followed by a minute of silence. โWe must stand by the refugees and all those affected by this terrible European war. It is a matter of dignity and humanity,โ declared Christian Estrosi, president of the Nice Cรดte dโAzur Metropolis.
The metropolis’s support plan for the Ukrainian people was unanimously approved. It includes the organization of charitable and cultural events, as well as the implementation of an adapted reception system for refugees who would come to the territory of the metropolis. An emergency medical supplies truck will be sent to Ukraine by the end of the week, and two semi-trailers have already set off to deliver food and hygiene products there.
Regarding the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, an economic plan will be implemented. It will support businesses whose operations might be affected by the war. For example, businesses involved in import-export with Ukraine or Russia, or those that have a subsidiary or office in the two warring countries, are concerned.
