Water is celebrated in Venanson

The Rencontres de Venanson are organizing a festival around the theme of water on Saturday, July 20, and Sunday, July 21.

Starting Saturday, July 20 from 11 a.m., visitors can explore the various exhibitions and activities offered:

– “Water: a vital resource,” a photo exhibition by Yann-Arthus Bertrand
– Photographs from the winners of a photo contest
– Installations made from water bottles placed throughout the streets and squares of the village
– Explanatory panels on water management in the community
– A guided tour of the village fountains will take place on Saturday afternoon and evening
– A film about the water trade will be screened, followed by a discussion

Sunday will begin with a conference by Eric Gili on land use and the use of irrigation canals at the end of the 19th century in the community of Venanson.

The Mรฉditerranรฉe 2000 association, under the auspices of Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolitan’s environmental and energy service, will be present with an exhibition titled “Protect Water.”

Creative workshops for both children and adults using water bottles will be held over the two days under the big top, and “Les Petits Cugulรฉs” will host a stand themed “Water, from the mountain to the sea.”

The Sunday will conclude with an a cappella concert in the regional language by the duo Bessonella in the Saint Michel church.
