Last evening of the season at Jean Bouin where the two senior teams of ONN will compete in matches valid for the third place in their championship.
On the women’s side, the team from Nice leads 2-0 against Nancy and will want to finish in style with one last decisive victory, thus avoiding a rematch on Sunday.
As for the men’s team… Nice vs. Montpellier is not a final for the title, but the “third place” medal remains a real objective that should ease the disappointment shared by both teams.
It is certain that players from both clubs had to digest the elimination and try to refocus on the last two matches (return match in Montpellier next Saturday).
The task is not always easy but important to avoid ending empty-handed, as Rémi Garsau explains: “We need to remotivate ourselves to go for the 3rd place. We cannot afford to abandon a year of work, whatever the reason.”
Encounters between the two clubs do not allow for much prediction regarding the outcome of the matches. Indeed, while Nice won its home match 9-5, Montpellier won 6-5 in the one played at home.
The key element of Saturday’s match will be to not concede too many goals to avoid falling behind its opponent. The final victory will be decided by very little, so it is crucial not to approach the return match with too large a point deficit.
This Saturday 27th at Jean Bouin:
