For their second European Cup match, Olympic Nice Natation (ONN) dominated the Russian team Kinef Kirishi with a score of 9 goals to 7.
2/2 in this European water polo cup for Olympic Nice Natation. After defeating the team from Sรจte on Thursday night (11-4), the players from Nice repeated the feat against the Russians of Kinef Kirishi. Never really in danger, ONN logically won 9-7.
The locals’ success was built in the first half. After a rather sluggish start, the team from Nice then took control over their opponents. A few mistakes from the Russians, combined with a strong defense and an inspired goalkeeper, allowed the ONN players to head into the break leading (5-2).
The beginning of the second half highlighted the defenses, as only 1 goal was scored by Kirishi during the third quarter (5-3).
The last eight minutes of play, however, were much more open, with 4 goals scored on each side (9-7).
This victory, achieved without a hitch, positions Olympic Nice Natation at the top of the group with 6 points.
The next match is against the other undefeated team, Circolo Nautico Posillipo Napoli, this Saturday at 5:30 PM.
