After their semi-final victory against Strasbourg, Olympic Nice Natation will face Cercle des Nageurs de Marseille in the final of the French Pro A championship. The first leg will take place at the Jean Bouin pool this Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM.
Thanks to their draw in Strasbourg (9-9) in the semi-final second leg, the Nice water polo players qualified for the final of the French Pro A championship. They will face the Marseillais, who finished first in the regular season and defeated Montpellier in the previous round.
“I am very satisfied with this qualification for the final” admits Samuel Nardon. “We had a complicated season with many injuries and suspensions. This final is a bonus for us” confesses the coach of Olympic Nice Natation. He is also very proud of his players who did not give up throughout the season.
Regarding this Wednesday night’s match, Samuel Nardon states that the pressure is on Marseille: “We’ve already won the League Cup this season. I know my players will give their all. We have nothing to lose.”
The Nice coach also explained that both teams know each other well. “They have a very offensive strategy. We will need to contain their two attackers well” he adds about the Marseillais.
Samuel Nardon’s players will play a final for the first time in seven years. For Olympic Nice Natation, it will be about securing a 13th French championship title.
