The French Women’s U17 Water Polo team ranks 1st in the pool and qualifies for the Junior European Championships at the 1st European Games, from June 12 to 21 in Baku (Azerbaijan).
The qualification tournament took place this past weekend at the Jean-Bouin pool.
The Players: ALBERATO Manon – GAIECH Victoria – JOLY Marie – SOULIOL Fanny -TONQUEDEC Marie – VINCENT FONTANILLAS Cloé – MARSOUINS HEROUVILLE and coach George INTZES represented Olympic Natation Nice within the national team.
Results:
France won against Switzerland with a score of 25-2 (4-0, 6-0, 4-2, 11-0), against Great Britain 13-12 (2-2, 4-2, 2-3, 5-5), against Portugal 17-2 (4-0, 2-2, 6-0, 5-0), and against the Czech Republic 14-7 (4-2, 2-1, 4-2, 4-2).
In parallel, in Poland, the French junior boys’ Water Polo team also ranks 1st in its pool and qualifies for the same European Championships in BAKU next June. Among them are 3 members of the Olympic Nice Natation: Lilian OSPEDALE, Jocelyn MUTAMBAYI, and Andrea DENARDI.
