One of the new features of these European elections is the list of Nous Citoyens, which currently has nearly 10,000 members and has submitted its lists in the seven metropolitan constituencies.
These leaders assert that “French people of different political sensitivities are committed to proposing a message of efficiency and proximity.”
After consulting its members to finalize the program, Nous Citoyens proposes 50 credible and coherent measures for:
– A popular Europe
– A less technocratic Europe
– A Europe focused on growth
– A Europe of common projects
– A Europe that protects
– A strong Europe in the world
The candidates of this movement outline these objectives: “We want to make our country exemplary to have our voice heard in Europe. Reforms in France are necessary to strengthen our country’s voice in Europe.
The way France and the French carry the project and lead the debate on European policies is observed both by other countries and European peoples, and beyond the borders of the Union.
We have a historic responsibility as a founding member of this great project. For France to retain its role as a driving force alongside the member states that want to strengthen Europe, primarily Germany, it must urgently carry out the necessary reforms and become a pole of attraction for the rest of the world.”
