The city of Nice has been placed on yellow alert for “strong winds.” Mรฉtรฉo France explains that usual phenomena in the region, but occasionally and locally dangerous, are expected, similar to the mistral, summer thunderstorms, rising waters, or even strong waves that can flood the coastline.
Due to the weather conditions and to ensure the safety of everyone, the City of Nice has decided to close all parks, gardens, and the coastal path of the City of Nice this afternoon, from 2 PM until further notice.
This closure also applies to green spaces hosting public institutions.
Staff will monitor the exits of schools and early childhood establishments.
Wind gusts reaching up to 110 km/h are expected on the coastline. The alert should be lifted around 7 PM.
