Weather: School transportation affected in certain regions of the Alpes-Maritimes tomorrow

Latest News

In the context of the severe weather hitting the Alpes-Maritimes, a red alert for rain and flooding was issued on October 17, 2024. It is expected to last for a few more hours. Several precautionary measures have been implemented, particularly concerning school transportation.

Due to the weather conditions and the risks related to the roads, school transportation in the Tinรฉe and Vรฉsubie areas will not be provided tomorrow morning. This decision was made as a safety measure, pending an inspection of the roads as soon as conditions allow.

Public transportation is also disrupted. The Lignes dโ€™Azur network has suspended its services in the mid and highland areas from 6 PM. On the coast, buses and trams are operating normally. The service may adapt based on the evolution of the weather conditions.

The recorded rainfall amounts over 24 hours show the extent of the precipitation: 87 mm in Roquebilliรจre, 70 mm in Lantosque, 60 mm in Saint-Martin Vรฉsubie, 50 mm in Saint-ร‰tienne-de-Tinรฉe, and 40 mm in Levens. These figures illustrate the intensity of the rains which have saturated the ground and increased the risk of flooding.
